THREE MONTHS AFTER ITS ORIGINAL OPENING DATE - NORTHAMPTON'S NEWEST COFFEE VENTURE HAS OPENED IT'S DOORS TO CUSTOMERS IN THE TOWN CENTRE
Ethical community coffee brand Esquires Coffee has launched a new store in Dychurch Lane.
The Zofur family venture was meant to open on March 30 - seven days after Boris Johnson announced that the country would be heading into lockdown.
Almost three months later the new branch opened it's doors for the first time on Monday, as part of it's soft launch, with a range of Fairtrade and organic coffee options with breakfast, lunch, brunch, children's and dinner menus.
The owner, Ali, has listed his opening times this week from 9am to 4pm, with a view to changing it to 7am to 9pm in a few weeks time as he serves only takeaways at the moment.
He said: "We have been waiting for this for a really long time. It took us almost a year and Covid happened. Like anyone we were upset but we are looking on the bright side.
"Opening went really well and lots of local businesses came to support us. They came in to introduce themselves and lots of people came in to check it out and they loved it. They can't wait for us to open when they can sit in and enjoy the atmosphere."
The menu, which features options including wood fired roasted vegetable pizza and Punjabi spiced Pollack goujons in the evening, also features vegan and vegetarian dishes.
